He is the guy neighbors love to share a cup of coffee with and hearing him improvise a song in a cappella. He is the guy who cycles through the streets of Amsterdam, singing out loud whatever tune comes to his mind. He is the guy who could lift your mood with his gleaming smile and a few comforting words and of course… a song. People who know of his music will often let compliments fly in his direction "Keep it up man! Good job!" while crossing him on the street.

People who know him, know that singing is as important as breathing itself. It's what keeps his heart beating and his mind thriving. Singing is the be all and end all of this remarkable musician. He lives, breathes, eats and sleeps music. His fans' support and admiration is what fuels his drive and keeps him inspired. "I like to put a smile on people's faces. Music helps me do that." he will tell you frankly. The wellbeing of others is as important as his own and what tremendous serendipity it is for him that he can achieve such a goal using his passion.

While Steffen Morrison is the guy next door everyone loves to love, he also is an artist whose craft is rooted in that life he relishes. His natural curiosity for all things that surround him, his constant need for having new experiences and his passion for music make him a true artist befitting of his generation. His highly recognizable and critically acclaimed talent can be heard in his first album "Revealed". The album is bursting at the seams with musical enthusiasm and variance. While based on much of Steffen Morrison's personal history, the album speaks truthfully to many of his fans and audiences at large. "Revealed is about getting to know me on a personal level. It's about revealing who I am." Steffen shares. But it is also about acknowledging that as a society we all share the same hopes, dreams and concerns.

It also embodies everything Steffen Morrison represents in the day to day life. His personality, his charismatic disposition, his sense of style, his lightness of being is all included in his tracks. "I cannot conceive music as a job or as a part of me that only exists in the studio or on a stage. I am my music and music is me 24/7, thus everything I'm about emotionally and physically is also on this album, I saw no reason for leaving that part at home while recording it at the studio

." Steffen Morrison's musical genre is an ode to the days of yore of the soul scene. His boyhood was nursed by the sounds of the 50's, 60's and 70's of the American musical landscape. As a young boy, while playing in his backyard he heard the powerful voice of Luther Ingram on his father's record player, singing the beloved "If Loving You Is Wrong (I Don't Want to Be Right) and as it gave him goose bumps, it also immediately paved the road for his dream of becoming a performer. As he moved from childhood to adulthood he brought along his memories of the old tunes however adapting them to a contemporary and personal feel. Steffen Morrison's intent is to continuously explore new sounds and melodic grounds in order to break down barriers and achieve artistic excellence. Pop, soul, funk and jazz mix effortlessly in his repertoire.

His rugged warm alluring and identifiable voice sets him apart from many entertainers and the fervor he puts in his live performances have caught the eye of world renowned performers such as Joss Stone and Raphael Saadiq for whom he was the opening act of their concerts in The Netherlands. Even the mighty sportswear Establishment Reebok has chosen Steffen Morrison's track "Shake it" which was propelled to immediate international recognition and is making the world take notice. Steffen Morrison's album "Revealed" has already met the good fortune of being nominated for an Edison Award, The Netherlands' most prestigious music award. Steffen Morrison collaborated on his album- which he also co-wrote and co-produced- with the likes of Los Angeles based Brian "Big Bass" Gardner, who has worked with emblematic musicians such as Prince, 2Pac, Blondie and Michael Jackson to name a few.

Steffen Morrison started attracting audiences' attention upon winning the semi-finalist position in what is considered Holland's most popular non televised musical talent competition, De Grote Prijs van Nederland. Since then, Steffen Morrison has been on a steady path to success, leaving his mark wherever he performs. His agenda for 2012 promises to be just as exciting if not more, than the past 2 years. He is setting his sights on the rest of Europe and a new album is on the books. No doubt one that will be brimming with new experiences translated in amazing melodies.

Steffen Morrison is not done with us yet and as such talent is rare and valued not only should we keep our ears open for more captivating music, but also our eyes for a shooting star could be passing by…
